About

Hi! My name is Nichole.

A year ago I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a business degree. I double majored in Marketing and International Business and received double certificates (minors) in South Asian Studies and Professional Chinese Communication.

During my time at Madison, I was fortunate enough to study abroad three times in three different places: Tianjin, China, Bangkok, Thailand, and Varanasi, India. I’ve also had the opportunity to do short term trips in conjunction with academic courses to Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic, and Havana, Cuba.

Now that I’ve graduated, I’ve been back in India for a year as the R.A. at the same study abroad program I did in Varanasi. That being said, the words and content on this blog do not represent the study abroad program that I am currently an R.A. for.

When I’m not out exploring Varanasi or reading a good book, you can find me trying to learn as many languages as possible. At University I’ve taken over three years of Mandarin, four years of Hindi, and one year of Bangla. I’ve also taken two years of high school Spanish, but it’s rustier than a car left in the rain for seven years! On top of those languages, I try to get my hands on anything else I can learn including Russian, Tamil, Swahili, Arabic, and whatever language I’m in the mood for that day.

This blog is an amalgamation of all of these experiences I’ve had along the way. For now it’ll mostly be about India, but I’ll thrown in some different posts in there to spice it up!

Enjoy!
